CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY.

A degree in Construction Technology will prepare you for a career in residential, commercial, industrial, or public-works construction.
The aim of this degree programme is to produce Construction Technology graduates who have knowledge, technical skills and competencies together with communication, managerial, and entrepreneurial skills necessary to work in Construction industry as part of a team to ensure the highest standards and best practices in construction management, services, maintenance and operations.
Construction Technology combines a hands-on construction program with technical course of study. Students will receive on the job training opportunities, they will obtain the engineering and construction skills to plan, organize, solve problems and communicate well in the execution of construction of civil engineering structures.


Construction technology degree will prepare you to take up jobs as a Construction Engineering technologist, Engineering Technological officer (Army, Navy, Air force), Building control officer, Building control technologist, Building services engineering technologist, Design & Build Co-Ordinator, Construction Site Supervisor, Site Manager, Heating/ Cooling System, Lighting System, Electrical System Technologist or take up alternative careers as University/HE Academic or Academic/Training support staff, University/ HE Instructor/ Demonstrator or Research Scientist positions at public/ Private sector organizations.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Local GCE (A/L) examinationA candidate should have obtained a minimum of three (03) S passes in Mathematics stream (Combined Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) or in Technology Stream (Engineering Technology, Science for Technology AND One Other Subject).
They should have obtained minimum C passes for English, Mathematics and Science for G.C.E O/L Examination or any other equivalent foreign examination.

Cambridge/ Edexcel examinations
A minimum ‘D’ pass for (Mathematics/ Physics/ Biology) in any of the following examinations

1.    General Certificate of Secondary Education        (GCSE) (UK)2.    General certificate of Education Advanced       Level Pearson Edexcel or Cambridge

They should have obtained minimum C passes for English for G.C.E O/L Examination or any other equivalent foreign examination.
