The curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge and hands-on experience in Biomedical Instrumentation. The program will also provide knowledge in Electrical and Electronics engineering, Biomedical control systems, Biomedical Image processing, Sensors, Laser Instrumentations and Medical Robotics..

Biomedical Instrumentation Technology encompasses areas of technology which is used to diagnose, monitor, and treat diseases that affect humans. This degree programme is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in installing and maintaining medical equipment used in a health care setting. Knowledge of technical processes, the ability to use and to carry out preventive maintenance of most medical/ analytical instruments are among many talents’ students will gain after studying Biomedical Instrumentation Technology degree programme. A student who has completed the Biomedical Instrumentation Technology degree at the Faculty of Technology will have acquired knowledge in Biomedical instrumentation and Biomedical sciences to be able to plan, assess, select, procure, inventories, install, train, maintain and decommission medical equipment used in a health care setting.

Local GCE (A/L) examination

A candidate should have obtained a minimum of three (03) S passes in Mathematics stream (Combined Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) or in Technology Stream (Engineering Technology, Science for Technology AND One Other Subject).

They should have obtained minimum C passes for English for G.C.E O/L Examination or any other equivalent foreign examination.

Cambridge/ Edexcel examinations

A minimum ‘D’ pass for (Mathematics/ Physics/ Biology) in any of the following examinations

1.    General Certificate of Secondary Education
        (GCSE) (UK)
2.    General certificate of Education Advanced
       Level Pearson Edexcel or Cambridge

they should have obtained minimum C passes for English, Mathematics and Science for G.C.E O/L Examination or any other equivalent foreign examination.
