AUTHOR GUIDELINE

The KDU Journal of Frontiers in Technology (KJFT) is dedicated to publishing groundbreaking research in diverse technological domains, encompassing construction, building services technology, biomedical technology, IT, biosystems technology, engineering, and interdisciplinary fields.

Contributions to KJFT extend but are not confined to the following areas: advancements in AI Technology, Innovations in energy management, medical laboratory sciences and Bio-systems Engineering Research Applications.

While KJFT welcomes submissions that highlight practical applications in these domains, the emphasis remains on the pioneering aspects of the work. Authors are encouraged to elucidate how their research introduces innovative methodologies, enhances performance, or introduces transformative approaches within their respective fields. Submissions focusing solely on routine or conventional practices without highlighting novel contributions may not align with the journal’s core objectives. Consequently, papers should underscore the uniqueness of the presented solutions and provide comprehensive evaluations of the modern technological techniques employed.

Manuscript Length: While there’s no strict limitation on manuscript length for submissions to KJFT, authors are advised to maintain conciseness. Papers exceeding ten to twenty pages may experience prolonged review times, potentially delaying publication. Unedited theses will be considered under exceptional circumstances.

For submissions to KJFT, research papers typically range between 5,000 to 10,000 words on average. Peer-reviewed articles should exceed a minimum of 5,000 words. Nevertheless, authors are encouraged to articulate their findings as succinctly and effectively as possible.

Adopt the most recent edition of the IEEE Style for citations. Utilize endnotes with the Word Endnote function, employing Arabic numeral superscripts. Avoid using references in parentheses within the text.

The KDU Journal of Frontiers in Technology (KJFT) invites submissions in two primary categories: Full Papers and Review Papers.

KJFT is a platform that seeks to publish comprehensive and insightful research spanning various technological domains, including but not limited to construction technology, building services, biomedical technology, IT, biosystems technology, engineering, and interdisciplinary studies.

The journal welcomes both foundational and applied research papers that provide a mature, thorough, and innovative exploration of methodologies and insights within the technological landscape. Each submission undergoes a meticulous review process led by our esteemed editorial team, ensuring alignment with the journal’s standards of excellence, originality, and relevance to the field.

Authors are required to adhere strictly to the provided Author Guidelines during the manuscript preparation. While the editorial team provides initial feedback based on the manuscript’s maturity, completeness, and novelty, the final decision rests with the reviewers and editors. Accepted papers should offer a substantial discussion, clearly articulate their contribution’s originality to the respective field, evaluate the anticipated scientific impact, include rigorous methodologies, address ethical considerations, provide empirical data, and establish meaningful connections with existing scholarly literature.

Authors are provided with a paper template that outlines the specific formatting guidelines for KJFT submissions. Manuscripts must adhere to the A4 page size, measuring 210 x 297mm (8.27″ x 11.69”). Ensure margins are set as follows: Top and Bottom at 20 mm (0.75″) and Left and Right at 20 mm (0.75″). Additionally, maintain a two-column format with a 4.00 mm (0.15″) space between columns, commencing from the Introduction section onwards.

Manuscripts submitted to KJFT must include an abstract, introduction, technical sections, and conclusions. Ensure that references are placed at the conclusion of the paper. Figures and tables must be sequentially numbered. Page numbering should be omitted. For submission, authors are required to format their documents using Microsoft Word and upload them in MS Word file format to the journal’s website.

Submit full-length manuscripts through the ‘Submit online to this journal’ feature on our website: https://fot.kdu.ac.lk/cjft-journal/. For inquiries regarding submitted papers, please contact the Chief Editor via email at editor.kjft@kdu.ac.lk.
